> I don't know what's going on? I quit taking Lexapro 3 weeks ago and I'm pretty sure I'm NUTS! Crying, tingle feelings shooting all over, wierd laps or tracers, head itches, fear or anxiety, moody, lips going numb, I quit taking it because my doctor said "Lets try something new!" Sometimes I feel like I should just stay on it forever, but I don't like all the side effects, but I can't live my life like this. How long before all these withdrawals go away!!!

That might depend on how quickly you tapered the Lexapro, what dosage you were at, and how long you had taken it for. It's hard to say for sure. If you go on to another drug that is a SRI (serotonin reuptake inhibitor), the withdrawal effects should subside.

Is the intensity of these withdrawal effects lessening with time? Some people use Benadryl (diphenhydramine) to help mitigate some of these effects.

It seems that many people do indeed experience withdrawal symptoms that last for many weeks if they discontinue an SRI drug too rapidly.

What drug, if any, were you going to try next?

I'm sorry that I can't be of more help.
