As far as my acupuncturist goes, he is an amazing man and knows a heck of a lot about withdrawls,,, especially from meds... he has worked with a number of pts this way,, including me.. I didnt have to explain much at all... He seemed to understand fully and warned me to go VERY VERY slowly in weaning.. He Told me seriously that no matter what to NEVER EVER go back on it.. or that I would be trapped forever on this antidepressants... He said that the body takes a very long time to recover from this drug..
The brain has to make its own neuro receptors again and this takes time..
But of course the psyche docs dont tell you this when you are on it or when they are writing the rx.
