While I have never been on Zoloft, I am currently in the stages of successfully withdrawing from Prozac 15-20 mgs/day after around 3 years.

To me, it sounds like you withdrew too quickly. I personally went from 15 mgs a day to 7.5 mgs/day. I augmented the 7.5 with 1000 mgs EPA (from omega 3/ fish oil), magnesium, and a natural multi-vitamin (with B's, zinc, aminos all within one tablet). After spending perhaps 5-6 weeks on this regimen, I realized I had less depression and anxiety than I did on the higher dose of Prozac alone. Now I am down to 5 mgs/day Prozac and I intend to stabilize on that for around 6-8 weeks. From there, I intend to take less and less with the hope of not only withdrawing, but also being happier and healthier by, say mid-July. Also though, there is no pressure. If I hit a roadblock, I know the med is there for me to step up to a higher dose. I think it has been important to not pressure myself too much to withdraw (and to withdraw too quickly, at that).

If I was in your situation, I would 1) go back on a slightly lower dose of the SSRI and withdraw more slowly. From my own experience, stabilizing on each slightly lower dose for a good 3-4 weeks has worked wonders up until now. I would also 2) augment my withdrawal with omega 3's and other (so-called) natural remedies.

I am no expert though. This has been my experience (which I am still living) and I feel confident that at this rate I can either withdraw, or stay on a lower dose of SSRI and be better than I was on the higher dose SSRI alone.
