I'll give you the advice my doctor gave me, except that I am on geodon. We're trying to taper off the medication too, and are not sure if it will be successful. My doctor told me if I ever start getting irritable, anxious, or have psychotic thoughts again while on a lower dosage(mine went from 200mg to 180mg), just to take an extra 20mg of geodon. I don't have to take the extra 20mg everyday, just on days I don't feel well, and it works. My overall advice to you is to talk to your psychiatrist and ask him or her to give you extra samples in case you need to take extra at times you may feel depressed or any of the above. Tapering off of medication is a slow process and don't forget sometimes not successful experience. Just don't feel down if you have to take it for the rest of your life. Just think of it as a vitamin if you do need to. But don't forget to stay hopeful that you might get off of it. For me, either way as long as I stay healthy and never relapse again for the rest of my life, I can care less if I don't get off of the medication.
