I think in a lot of ways Effexor saved my life. However, it is so very hard to get off of! Had I known the struggle that was to come by getting off of it, I think I wouldve tried harder to stay med-free, or at least a different med. I am almost 2 months clean off of Effexor, and still face a wide variety of problems from my body adjusting to life w/o it. If I were you, Id try to stay at a low dosage and work REALLY REALLY hard to get off of meds entirely! Not everyone can do this, though. If you need it, you need it. I was on Effexor for like 8 years...I strongly believe people must find a way to work through the anxiety w/o meds. It only masks the problems.
