Don't forget, experiences with the medicine will vary person to person. I wouldn't fear it, but consider it that you're warned, and you can be prepared. I was glad that I could go off of Effexor XR gradually, and schedule it so I could deal with whatever symptoms showed up (take time off work, etc.) I warned my friends and family to help keep an eye on me. I, personally, found I had a minimal withdrawl experience compared to what I've read. Look for older posts, SLS recommends a nice tapering system which takes time but reduces symptoms. rabble_rouser had a set of vitamins which gave no symptoms during withdrawal.

Now for me: it's just dealing with depression without the medicine's help.

Good luck!
