Thanks Scott,
In answer to your question about Zyprexa withdrawal--keep in mind I was on 10mg for 5 years. The longer you're on a nueroleptic, the more severe your withdrawal will be. My previous psychiatrist had told me I would be on this drug the rest of my life--I switched psychiatrists after gaining 100lbs and reading about all the lawsuits. I "weaned" down over a 5 month period from 10 to 2.5--perhaps I should have taken even longer. The withdrawal was awful. I had bouts of sweating that would last for hours--even when it was 15 degrees outside. I could not sleep. I felt light-headed,nauseous,disoriented,photo-sensitive,anxious--then my Dr. prescribed the Trazodone. It's hard to tell now if I'm still going through Zyprexa withdrawal-my Dr. assures me that's over--or Trazodone withdrawal. Or if I'm just permanently damaged. I don't know. It's very scary. I quit smoking--a two pack a day 20 year habit, two years ago,and I thought this would be easy in comparison. Wrong!
