Yes, I think psilocybin could aid psychotherapy. I think in a low dosage the drug could break through existing thought patterns and provide new perspective. At higher doses I think the visual hallucinations and disorientation would be overwhelming.

I used to use it recreationally so I'll say this. The potency of mushrooms varies wildly so I think it would be a bad idea to go this route for self illumination. The problem is you never really know with mushrooms whether they'll be mild or whether they'll shred the fabric of space/time.
