ethical problem with former psychiatrist

I have recently been made aware that my former psychiatrist had discussed some intimate details of my life (and my husband's, whom he doesn't even know!) with someone who is a personal friend of mine. This occurred several years ago when she was also in therapy with him. She never told me about this before because she didn't want to hurt my feelings. Do I have any recourse in disciplining action towards this doctor? I am very hurt and outraged over his apparent lack of ethical standards.
