Scary indeed.
He'd already been caught sleeping with one patient, and he was apparently sleeping with this patient also. Even if he hadn't tried to run her through with a sword, the authorities obviously had done absolutely nothing to prevent this doctor from abusing his relationship by sleeping with clients.
And since he was also caught overprescribing narcotics to a patient, my suspicions about why his patients were so anxious to get *his* prescriptions rather than running with relief that he hadn't tried to kill them to another doctor look not unlikely.
As much as I adore and trust my therapist, if I found out he was in jail after attacking a client with a sword, I'm pretty sure I'd be running away not towards. Call me fickle.
