You might want to ask your therapist just exactly how you are to get through this inevitable loss. It is insufficient to just say "you'll get through it" without suggesting how to go about it.
Sometimes it helps to know that each and every day, someone is losing their psychotherapist for one reason or another. You will lose yours, too.
You can have your next therapist help you work through and understand the loss you feel for having left your present one.
Dinah did a wonderful job of equating your loss with grieving for a death.
Since I am not a psychotherapist, I can afford to be insufficient in telling you that you WILL get through this, particularly because you have no choice. How you go about getting through it is up to you. It is that simple.
