Perhaps almost everyone who is feeling enough distress to seek out therapy could be said to have something amiss in their early attachment experiences. Much of therapy is designed to help people feel more securely attached- first to their therapists, and later to important people outside of therapy. A number of posters have written about that- one that comes to mind is Seldom Seen. If this hasn't happened at all for you, you may have been seeing therapists who aren't optimally trained for your situation. Please don't think that an attachment disorder can't be helped.
