In reply to My Inner Child is Afraid, posted by Guy on August 17, 2007, at 18:43:08
hello Guy,
your inner child comes to you for a reason. sometimes it's to get now what he/she never got then. sometimes it's to give a voice to something he/she wasn't aloud so many years ago.
whatever your child's needs, it helps to have a therapist to help guide them and to keep you safe in the process.
-logically i know most of my anxiety/panic is non-substantiated, but that makes it no less real and interfering.
and maybe Guy, the reason your reassuring your child isn't working, is because your inner child know's everything is not ok.please find someone that can help you through this journey.
in the mean time, try to find something that your little one enjoys. drawing, coloring, maybe eating ice cream, or reading to him/her.
sometimes it' helps me to wrap up in a favorite blanket....and for some reason, Freddy is a soul that can't leave my mind. he was so incredible. did you know he trained in opera? that's why i believe his voice is so powerful.
"'peace" Freddy.and i hope you find what you need Guy.
caresb2c.
