Dreams Regarding Therapy

Posted by happykat on January 2, 2007, at 10:45:15

Do you ever dream about your therapist? Do you ever discuss the dreams with them?

I've had 2 that I'm sure are symbolic. In the first I am standing in a house looking out at a pool, when all of a sudden my t appears holding what an unconscious 4yr old in her arms. I look closer and recognize that it's me. She starts screaming that I let the child drown. I ignored her and she drown.

In the second my t is holding a quilt I had when I was a child and pulling the stuffing out of it saying that its bad. I need to find new stuffing to put in the quilt.

I generally don't bring up dreams in therapy because I have too much other stuff to talk about. Just curious if anyone has ever delved into their dreams in therapy and resolved any issues this way.

Regards,
happykat
