We were talking about how it's important to be nice to the ones we love the most (spouse) and not to treat them as if they will be there no matter what, like they have no feelings.
T: "Nobody wants to hear someone come in and whine and complain all the time. Nobody wants to be around that"
me: "except for clinical psycholgists"
momentary shock. then he started laughing really hard. tried to cover for it, saying that even T's don't like to take abuse and feel like they're not helping their client at all. then he (VERY QUICKLY) changed the topic.
man, I could never be a T!!
I had a fun session today. We talked about scary movies and what makes them scary. We talked about people who know nothing about computers. I was so mad at my husband because I couldn't help him fix his computer. He started laughing and said his wife was the same way."honey what do i do with this box here? and what do you mean right-click?"
He's never mentioned anything personal before. It was kind of fun to have a session where we could chat, instead of doing crisis control. (Okay we did some *work* too! don't think we totally slacked off!)
*grin*
