Sometimes that process might be more damaging to a person's well-being than dealing with it privately. It's similar to whether an individual reports and/or testifies about rape. That might be too traumatizing for the individual to go through, unfortunately. I think each person in those situations has the right to maintain privacy versus publically talk about their experiences.
