Garret Keizer's therapy aid

Posted by pseudoname on February 4, 2006, at 10:14:57

"Some of the most helpful talks I've had occurred when I and my adviser of the moment were doing something else—fishing, tinkering, running the roads. If I were a psychologist, I think I might keep a big bushel of garden produce in my office and ask my clients to help me shuck, shell, or husk while we talked." –from Garret Keizer's "Help: the Original Human Dilemma" (2005) pg 132

A few years ago, someone on this board said if she were a therapist, she would take her clients for walks in the park during their sessions.
