you write as dramatically as you feel... I used to be that way, sigh....
Now I am just dramatic, tend toward catastrophic thinking, and have no talent left!!!
Keep writing, and remember that what you feel is normal to YOU... You can get some relief if you are troubled by it (I am, but not everyone is), but be wary about describing yourself (especially TO yourself) as abnormal. Mostly what we do to hurt ourselves is be our own harshest critic.
In answer to your question, there are different types of therapy. Go to the therapist that your doc has recommended, it can't hurt to try.
