As someone who has struggled with an eating disorder/anorexia for ten years (and counting), you definitely want to take care of this now, before it spirals out of control (and trust me, it can do that very quickly). Whether or not you have a true eating disorder doesn't matter----in the end, it's only a label---but what matters is how you are thinking about yourself, your eating, and your body image and weight.
You should bring this up with your T. But have you also considered seeing a nutritionist? A nutritionist can be very helpful in teaching you how to eat in a more healthful way, and they often *are* knowledgeable about eating disorders, and can be great people to talk to about such issues as/if these come up for you during your treatment with her/him.
Just a few questions to think about:
Has your eating changed lately?
If so, has anything happened that may have caused this (changes, stress, etc)?Sometimes eating problems can be attributed to other things going on that we may not consciously want to deal with.
Good luck, and stay on top of this. If your T isn't as helpful or supportive as you'd like, find another T, or supplement with a nutritionist.
Take care,
SV
