Seeing a neurologist shouldn't be a bad thing. My pdoc is a neuropsychiatrist, so he sort of covers the whole neurology aspect as well. Yes, I believe SSRIs can cause tics, but that doesn't mean you should have to live with them, and maybe the neurologist will be able to help with that.
As for 'wasting everyone's time' - you are not! You are well worth whatever time is spent on you and then some. Try to remember that.
I know what you mean about being caught up in a circle of docs. I've been to so many lately and my pdoc keeps coming up with more tests to run, and I'm getting pretty tired of it. But I do think your pdoc has your best interests at heart, and my pdoc does the same for me. Try to go with the trust thing for the time being and see if it helps.
