I know its not PC, but through wastefull programs like manned space flight not enough resources are available for research on mental disorders. Maybe our government will finally wake up and cut back on manned space programs and put attention on more valuable areas.

Not even breast cancer and heart disease gets even the fraction of this attention. Eveyone knows the ribbons that celebrities wear to show their support for AIDS research......does anyone ever remember a significant number of hollywood types raising awareness for any other health issue? Out of touch. IMHO, mental health is severely overlooked. Unfortunately, kids of celebrities will have to start committing suicde in great numbers for anyone to give a damn.

That's a very interesting point Fuzz because I personally think there are a lot of people in Hollywood that are bi-polar and/or depressed. Look at the amount of drug and alcohol abuse, think there might be a little self-medicating going on there? If some of these folks could admit to problems and seek help, it would probably go a long way in making mental health issues a more socially acceptable problem. I think they're in a bit of denial which is pretty representative of the public as a whole. sigh.
