And it isn't just about females. Many of our boys are abused, too. By males. By females.
All people need their own beds. Their own lockable rooms. Their own control over whether people are allowed into their space (and when and under what conditions) and when they aren't allowed into their space.
And of course people need communal spaces, too, so they can socialise with others.
But their own personal spaces.
We don't have that. We have many people who seek to control others by way of withholding basic resources. At the level of sleep. At the level of constantly interfering with / badgering.
I mean... One of my mates used to go to anger management courses. He was saying that the guys were full of stories about how they just needed to / wanted to get away. Have some time out. Some peace and quiet. Time and space to think. To chill. To relax. But being badgered on and on and on and they didn't know how to make it stop without lashing out.
And I guess I think of my Mother and how apparently my sister turned on her one day and that sorted my Mother out. She never hit her again.
That kind of a dynamic.
Imagine if guys, too, had their very own room. A shed. A den. Whatever... A place where they could go that was theirs where it was understood that nobody else was in that space without their permission.
Everyone... Their own space.
I think about how married couples used to have adjoining rooms. I think that is very civilised. And individual / twin bathrooms.
You keep your bathroom however you want to keep it... That's on you. Yeppers.
