I forget what I have read, but every day new chemicals are created, and tons of existing ones are distributed.
Even 300 years ago so much mercury was used at Potosí in Bolivia extracting the silver that it was to be found in glacier cores from then in Patagonia recently. I'm never surprised when people get cancer.
