It is too bad that your thread did not attract the participation of those posters who have been engaged in a similar debate regarding these issues currently being discussed on the Medication board. That thread really should be redirected to here.

I agree with you that the cost of health care is inflated, and that this is perhaps the greatest burden upon society. I think that there should be very close oversight and supervision of the mechanics of the system in order to mitigate waste, reduce the pricing of materials, and reign-in unjustified service fees. Tort reform and the reduction of malpractice insurance rates would be helpful as well.
