The U.S. Constitution protects freedom of/from religion. Religion has been a part of politics only as far as religious/non-religious people make the decisions. Let's remember that the constitution was created before many of the churches. Moral issues belong to religion. It's politics that is interfering. And people turning their back on moral principles. Call it religion or not. Religion teaches moral principles better than government or schools do.
