I know that it's quiet here

I do read a couple of other forums for their political content; lately the vitriol has been making my eyes bleed (figuratively).
I understand how difficult it is to express ourselves within the constraints of the rules and guidelines here, but I have to say that I feel *safe* in opening posts on this board. I don't have to be afraid that my sensibilities and political choices are going to suffer all out assaults.
Even as we tippy-toe around in trying not to stomp on each others' beliefs, let me say that I really, really, REALLY appreciate the environment around here.
