There was a Hitler film called "Downfall". I know I haven't seen that. The one before it I saw but I forget what that was. I quite liked Alec Guinness playing Hitler in something or other.
There were a couple of years I didn't do anything but read books about Hitler, being, as I'm sure you can understand, very depressed. Now I think of it, it's more than the history. At boarding school in 1966 I read "The Lord of the Rings" 3 times cover to cover including the appendices to shut the school out, though, unlike some others, I never learned Elvish. But anyway, when I read in some Hitler book that after the final showdown with the churches he was going to hang the Pope in St Peter's Square in full pontifical regelia and that huge towers to the dead would be erected on the eastern marches of the empire in eternal rememberence, I thought, 'this is Mordor'.
