I heard Garnaut on the radio last night. I don't know if you call it econometrics or statistics? I kinda got the drift of what he was saying though. He is Australia's leading free market economist, the one who did the report that led to the Hawke/Keating economic reforms. And then there was the IPCC (if that is the right name) saying something similar. They seem to be saying that we have LESS THAN ten years to get this right, especially if we want other countries to cooperate. One thing that has kicked this off is the impending collapse of the Murray-Darling basin, which is that area west of the range in eastern Australia from southern Queensland through New South Wales and Victoria round to South Australia.
