Since she was born around 1919 she would have had the opportunity to witness colonialism, WW11, liberation struggles, the Cold War, Marxism and the collapse of communism.
(And from the wrong side too....her comments on Marxism are illuminating..... that there was a seductive attraction to feeling that one had been given a means of decoding the mysteries of history).I worry about the fragility of our democratic processes.
Peak oil may have passed, and maybe Iraq was a preemptive strike?
