I'm very confused. Where did Americans get "bashed?" The American healthcare industry received plenty of criticism, sure. But it's no more a put-down of Americans to say the system is broken than it is to say we should get out of Iraq.
In "Sicko" Moore says Americans are wonderful folks, willing to give their neighbors the shirts off their backs. He argues that the health care system we have does not reflect these help-your-neighbor values. He does say it's a "sick" system, but urges his version of "the American way" - adopting the best elements of other nations' health care systems - as the path to giving Americans health care worthy of their best values.
