The Bush Hitler Thing

Everyone will be sceptical, but I put this forward in a dispassionate spirit.
The comparison is this. Hitler ended German power. I think we will look back on the Bush Presidency as a kind of apogee of US power. It won't end it, of course. I hasten to say this is not an original idea (Please don't blame me).
I'm aware that in the past I've adressed US citizens here in an accusatory spirit, as if they were responsible for various wrongs. I have mixed feelings about this. We are responsible in part for the rights and wrongs of our country, surely.
OTOH my doing so is rude and somehow (how?) presumptuous.
