Yeah, Texas is very diverse. Sorry we've lost the original thread some more than less. I can look around my neighborhood, and in a few blocks in either direction, is River Oaks one of the older wealthier neighborhoods in the country. The remnaints of what was once one of the largest gay communities in the country. Apartments full of legal and illegal immigrants next to empty nesters moving back into the city proper. The comedy club where Bill Hicks got his start. The clubs where the Texas outlaw and folkies got famous and lots of punk rock (we are always a little behind Austin in this regard). Gang graffitti on the stop sign next to the Lexus SUV with the W sticker. I love it here. No zoning, developers run wild. Shotgun shacks and old black Baptist churches next to high rise condos. A huge park and river sized bayou with a massive bat colony under the bridge. This is all my neighborhood, and My city is so large, many people have never been here, and I've never been where they live and have similar crazy diversity.
