we have not heard about the corrosive effect on legislative authority of gee dubya's "signing statements", but he feels he can sign anything and then issue a statement that explains he will do whatever he wants.

and resident Shrubya did give himself an escape clause with his signing statement on McCain's anti-torture bill.

i would dearly wish there were real protections against our government using torture. i just don't think we have them yet.

i think our laws have been clear enough up until now.
i feel the problem is the peoople in charge.
like "ick-day aynee-chay", for instance.
