I think that's unlikely. The Sixty Minutes piece last night was just another nail in the coffin. It's clear that our government and the country in general for whatever reasons don't consider it worthwhile to sink money into preventing another Katrina-type disaster. Which is especially galling because a good bit of the damage was caused by the federally designed and maintained flood protection under stresses they should have been able to withstand. And even more galling when it's discovered that the levees weren't built on foundations as strong as what any homebuilder builds a single family residence on.

It's a very discouraging state of affairs.
