yeah it can be hard.
>I suppose the world works on cycles of revenge, and the spirit of the last 5 years is revenge for something else. How come public life is like this when people are reasonable enough to each other in ordinary life? (It's a stupid question, right?)
well... some people are reasonable enough to each other. but... i think there is a similar 'drama triangle' operating in everyday life ;-)
>Anyway, what's so odd about this? Weren't we taught at school, I was, that the proper response to the world was fear and pity?
lol! yeah, i think thats pretty much the message that i took too. i think a lot depends on how the story is told... how the story is told. it takes a bit of 'radical interpretation / translation' for the 'drama triangle' / cycle of revenge to be made apparant. and who is telling the story... yes. well.
>It's odd that the Iraq/politics thing is looking so transparent.
from where we stand.
but from where other people stand it is transparant towards a different conclusion.have you looked at the stats?
how many americans (surveyed) believed saddam had al queda (can't spell) affiliations?
how many americans (surveyed) believed saddam had WMD?
how many americans (surveyed) believed they found saddam with WMD?
how many americans (surveyed) had NO IDEA WHATSOEVER why on earth anybody would want to bomb the world trade centre?
how many americans (surveyed) believe the majority of iraqui citizens want the us troops to remain in iraq?and so on and so forth...
i found this article...
it said that the majority of the media are owned by 6 corporations. and thats the 'reliable sources'. thats your 6pm type news sources. your paper. thats the messages that you get... and given that... given that... is it any wonder?
i feel a little frightened.
what i feel afraid of too...
is that currently New Zealand have some land in Antartica. We send people over there to study it. Study the wildlife. Effects of global warming. etc etc.2024 our land claim comes up for grabs again...
there is oil over there.
i wonder what...
rationale will be offered
for the invasion of antartica:-(
we can't do much
