I read an article about the philosopher Martha Nussbaum on the weekend in which she said a friend once said to her "You know, we're not here to play around. You have agreed to be a lawyer for humanity. That's what a philosopher is."
The last Australian to see active service in world war one died was buried this week and I have been so worried that a link to something enormously important may have died with him. But this man, this one remarkable man gives me hope that that special something lives one.
Thanks Alex, reading this story means so much right now.
Who you are, what you aspire to be and how we see you living that each and everyday is just so damn important. You may be just one person. But sometimes all it takes is one.
