My dear psychopharmacologist ordered some blood tests for me this week. Among other things, he included a test for albumin -- which is sometimes used to assess nutritional status. I became frightened at this, because I take Vyvanse and Provigil and Wellbutrin -- all of which can affect weight in some people.
Now, I do restrict, and I admit that. I don't restrict nearly as much as I did, and am not really all that thin right now. But I'm afraid that my blood will show poor nutritional status, and lead him to discontinue the meds I'm on.
He's in a tough place on this one, of course -- the meds might affect my weight, but they are also the best and most effective medications I've been on so far. I wish I could be easier for him, but you know what? I just don't want to gain weight right now.
I'm trying to get it all off my mind. And wondering what the results were...
Does anyone have any experience with this sort of thing? Or at least, does anyone have any words of succor for me?
Thanks!
