LOL! There is one tiny problem with that approach: the only things I'll usually eat at family gatherings are the meats! The other things are usually pretty vile....But it's a good point. Other than a couple of comments about, "It's good -- you should try this," or "aren't you going to have some," the comments were made to my mother the next day, not to my face... But I still felt uncomfortable, so I guess I can work on that without worrying about the rest of them....
