Zinc smell + taste

7 years ago lost smell and taste. No cold no nothing just faded away. Have seen three docs, had mri's and all say some virus must have attacked neurons in nose. And since it's been gone so long anyone think zinc could restore or another supplement? Thanks a huge loss of quality of life. Phillipa
