I've stopped by a few times recently and was shocked, but not surprised, at the lack of activity here.
If you did a google search on a psych drug years ago, babble might pop up very high on the list. Now, there are thousands of places to get info. but if I'm having med issues, I will still come here to read up because the info is better...generally.
90% of my friends left here because of how the board was moderated. I disagreed with many of them but I totally understood most.
I think babble is getting what it has given. Whether it's a company, a non-profit, or a website, it has to change and grow to survive. It has to listen to the discontent because those are the teachers. Maybe they aren't always right but if they all are saying the same thing, maybe it would be good to consider their viewpoint and not send them away.
I think babble will go back to where it started, a med board only, because for the most part, it's hard to actually talk about anything here, much less a spirited debate, without getting blocked. not everyone with mental illness can play nice all the time.
the med board, for the most part, keeps people focused on the subject at hand. that's it's saving grace. but sooner or later, it too will be a ghost town. I find that really sad and, at one time, totally preventable.
Now, to get blocked. There's one poster still here that even got me blocked, which was rare.
That poster has not made a lick of since on these boards and I thought that poster even put out a dangerous post years ago. But that poster has been protected while rational, intelligent people were thrown by the wayside because they said @ss....yes, I was warned.
So, there are still good people here, the old days weren't always the best days. but as I sit here on this earth, I dearly miss those shooting stars that lit up the night sky with brilliance for all to see, if they would just open their eyes.
