I think it is because the 2000 board is a "closed" board to all but those Babble members who joined during 2000 or before.
I don't believe there is any other reason. (And I, for one, really miss the Writing board. The Social board doesn't seem like the correct place for such intimacies as were shared on that board.)

Perhaps we could persuade Bob to reopen it?
