I sharply keep discussions about my illness away from my "real persona" for a reason.I don't want an employer to Google myself to see just how "unstable" I might be.
There is still way too much stigma about mental illness today, even with the actions of NAMI, which floors me that I hear zilch about the organization here that attempts to carry the voice of the afflicted, the mentally ill.
Health coverage plans may be forced to provide some "mental illness" coverage today, but it is piddles compared to your lifetime cap on other truly similar medical illnesses like heart conditions or other things that may land one in a hospital.
Plus the whole factor of pre-existing conditions.
I know this divides widely away from the other discussion boards but I had to reply to this because... well at one point I did think of a blog that included my condition, but for stigma I never did that.I have lost many friends, mostly online acquaintances but some IRL as well, because nobody wants to hear "heavy talk".
Anyhow I've gone on enough about this subject. If people want to twitter that's fine, but please keep my semi-private (Google excepted unfortunately) life here and here only.
