Mr. Hsiung,
In regards to that you write here that it is fine to ask for your rationale, discuss your policy, rules and actions taken by the administration here, I have the following concerns now that you have had your policy that one can not post here more than 3 consecutive posts, with noting that you have posted some exceptions to your rule.
Your rule reads;
[...More than (3 consecutive) posts {may} discourage {less-confident) posters from joining in. Giving them more of a chance makes it easier for them also to help--and to feel good about doing so...](citation devo1)
I have the following concerns that if you could reply to them I could have a better understanding of why you have made this rule and if it is good for the community as a whole.
A. If posting more than 3 consecutive posts {may} discourage {less confident posters}, could more than 3 consecutive posts then also >not< discourage less confident posters?
B. How do you determine, as to the criteria that you use, as to if a member here is a less confident poster or not?
C. If there are {less-confident} posters, are there also {more-confident posters}? If so, could those people be identified and be exempt from your rule here if they are the only members that are discussants in the thread?
D. If you are wanting to mean that less confident posters will be discouraged if they see another member's name 4 times without another member's name in between, could not those less-confident posters also be discouraged if they saw 2 member's names each 2 times? Or 5 members names each 2 times, or three times in succession? If not, could you post here in this thread why not? If you could, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
E. Are you aquainted with the research available concerning groups and what that research shows in relation to making a rule to accomodate some members of the group that the rule imposes a restriction on the whole group for them? I have this research, can I post the link to it it here?
F. If you are wanting to make your rule here so as to accommodate the less-confident member, could you not also make rules to accomodate, let's say, the less grammatically informed member or members that are less-active that post maybe once a day? If not, could you post here in this thread why not? If you could, then I could have the opportunity to respond accordingly.
