> i don't think blocks are the answer. i think we need to figure it out ourselves. we're all (somewhat) reasonable adults. i'm sure there's a solution. i jsut don't have it right now. and i really hate to see people who need help getting turned down because of one offhand comment. even if these comments are persistent, raising the amount of time someone can't post isn't the answer to me. i think it's up to the poster who's been deemed 'uncivil' to figure it out. and it'd be a whole lot easier to figure it out, if they had a voice.

Let's see what other ideas there are about possible alternatives to extended blocks. I'm not sure that I would be able to "figure out" an uncivil block on my own, or would want to, if I was in the mindset of wanting to get my point across in the heat of the moment. I think I'd be just set on getting my words out on the screen. And that way would probably lie another block.
