False reports are a concern. In an online group, they may be more likely because people can post anonymously. The posting of false information isn't allowed here, and while I can't necessarily determine whether a report is false, if I become aware that it is, I'll intervene then.

It does help a community to be able to mourn after a loss. Should we not without an obituary? It could be that one isn't published or no one in "real" life knows about us or has the time and energy to send one to us. And if even if we receive one, can we know for sure that it's for a particular poster?

I know it can be hard, not knowing for sure.
