This thread reminds me why I don't often post on psychobabble anymore.
The original intent of the post was lost, and the original poster may have been intimidated off his/her own post.
It has happened to me as well.
I have seen it happen with more pressing concerns, where the original post was asking for support and help.
The rules and guidelines about being polite on this site have become so tight, that it seems posters spend more time posting about how to say something in a way that fits in the guidelines, in a way that doesn't offend anyone in the slightest...than they do respinding to one anothers' ideas. I think that sometimes the original posters may either get fed up and so give up on their post, or may feel intimidated that everyone is picking apart their words. A lot of posts are 'hijacked' in this way. It is frustrating.
