I'm sorry, Declan.
You know, I've heard all my life that girls are way meaner than boys in middle school. And that boys just have it out and it's over. But as my son is getting older, I'm realizing that these stereotypes, like most stereotypes, just aren't true. Boys and girls aren't so different when it comes to middle school.
Isn't it wonderful that humans seem to age well?
I was glad that Tamar shared her thoughts on the topic, as my thinking was sort of like Mel's and Bobby's. That just *was* when we were growing up. My parents less so than most of my friends, yet my therapist calls what my mother did child abuse. I just called it normal for the era. But Tamar helped me see it a bit differently so that maybe now I can see it with two sets of eyes, if that makes sense?
Admittedly times have changed, and the children of those moms have a different ethic when it comes to discplining kids. Just as my mother was way less physical with me than her parents were with her.
