In reply to Dr.Bob moves my post a date back., posted by Think1234 on June 11, 2006, at 22:26:40

Hi, Think.

> The next day he moves my thread to the previous Jun 4 section.

The list of active threads & recent posts on each board's main page "turns over" every so often. On the Meds board (where your post was), this happens about every five days. That way there's a manageable amount of the most active recent threads on the main page. But you (and everyone else) can always access them by the exact same URL for the specific post, or by looking at the older pages of lists.

It's mostly automatic and certainly was nothing personal. It happens to everyone, every 5 days or so on the Med board. Maybe you noticed that my posts got moved with yours? It's less often on the other, less-active boards.

> I also think it was impolite of him would to not respond to my e-mail.

Dr Bob receives thousands of emails. He doesn't usually reply to individual emails about Babble. I think he's replied to 1 of about 7 emails I've sent him in the past few years. He works full time and does all the administrative work here, so he probably doesn't have a lot of time.

If you have a policy or operations question, you can always post it at the Admin board. If Bob doesn't reply there, someone else will, if they know the answer.

> I've been looking at the FAQs to figure out how whats considered new,and how many posts you see in a given thread when you enter the main psychobabble page, etc. I've found nothing

I think you're right that board "turnover" is not addressed in the FAQs. Maybe you could suggest that on Admin? (It will still probably take a few months before Bob has time to add something, though.)
