Hi Dr Bob,
>You're sure the window shuts and doesn't just go behind others?
Yep. I use Windows XP, I just tried running the search engine again with the windows task manager running ~ it showed the window/task of the search engine 'status' as running, then as soon as the window shut down, it disapeared from the windows task manager too, so from what I can see its not running in the background..
>I haven't changed anything here lately, have you on your end? Upgraded your browser or changed any settings?
Yes, this may have something to do with it, but I'm not sure how? A couple of weeks ago I upgraded my graphics card. The new graphics card runs very well with the system in general, meets all the minimum system requirements etc I did slightly tweak the display options in the control panel..
Changed the colour quality to highest (32 bit)
Changed the montior settings to 75 Hertz.
Thats was just to get the display to perform the best from the new card...
Everything else runs fine with this, everything else in windows and on the internet. Only problem seems to be this search feature..
>Have you tried searching from the search page?
Yep, same problem unfortunately..
>Weird.
Definitely, I'm not 100% sure this problem has started since I upgraded my graphics card, although could this be it do you think from the settings I've changed?
Kind regards
Nick
