That's a good point. I do tend to forget about first-time readers. I shouldn't do that. But perhaps....drawing that conclusion might be like "judging a book by its cover," i.e., many things seem provocative, or even or vulgar or course on the surface, yet when you look further..you find something very different.

> Maybe I'm just not enough of an insider to be keen on inside jokes.

Only way for that to disappear is to spend more time here...a double-edged sword, as Rain was experiencing during the time she wrote her post(s). (I'm not suggesting you spend more or less time here - just saying that once I did that, I've been able to learn to pick up on the vast majority of nuances and habits found in people's posting styles...)

> Anyway, this isn't a "complaint" addressed to administration under the three complaint rule,

I didn't think it was that sort of complaint.

>...it is a contemplation over whether such discourse is neighborly - in and of itself without extensive surfing into potentially more course writing referenced in the post. If I appear in my front lawn, talking loudly about evicting some scum scoundrel from the neighborhood, would the fact that I might be talking about myself make my behavior any more becoming for my neighbors?

Thanks for explaining more what your post was comtemplating. That's what I was trying to ask.

Not sure if I can equate the Admin board to "your front lawn" - still thinking on that one. But yes - for me, once I knew what and whom you were talking about, I'd probably ignore you and/or be mildly amused. Or possibly try to help, if I could think of a way.
